Safety in North Cascades National Park
Safety tips
- Be especially careful when driving at dawn and dusk , as animals often appear/cross the road during this period
-There is no signal in most areas of the park, so don't rely on your phone
-If you encounter a bear at close range, you cannot turn around and run away ( which may arouse the animal's hunting instinct ), you can only back away slowly, or speak loudly to scare it away
